Content and results
This workshop has been organized in conjunction with the Conference and Festival of Music and New Media Arts of the Department of Audiovisual Arts and the Laboratory of Research and Applications in Electronic Music of the Department of Music of the Ionian University -  two yearly events at Ionian University.

This intense joint event grouped, in addition to the workshop, a Conference, 7 evening concerts, series of installations and exhibitions of student works, seminars and master classes, and a round table discussion of artists and educators on the topic of New Media Art Education.

The general topics addressed throughout the event were: What new techniques of artistic creation are being developed as a result of new technologies? How can these techniques be taught? How does the accessibility to digital technology influence the creative process and the participation of citizens to creative activities? Can the use of new technologies open new avenues and perspective of approach towards science and culture?

The workshop itself gathered undergraduate and graduate students of the two Departments, and of the Program of Postgraduate Studies in Sound Art and Technologies of the Music Department. In addition, a master class was given by the partners’ representatives in the framework of the regular music technology course of the University. Finally, the senor artists of the partners performed and lectured several art pieces during the Festival.

43 participants : 30 in the regular class session in the framework of the music technology course of the University and 13 participants in the workshops + staff.
Undergraduate and graduate students of the Department of Audiovisual Arts and the Department of Music of the Ionian University; PhD and post graduate students from the Program of Postgraduate Studies in Sound Art and Technologies of the Music Department of the Ionian University; Experimented artists and composers; Participants from the partners.
